Nikon's 1 J1 and V1 on Location in Shanghai

Doug Harman, our man on location in China, reports on the first shots taken on the Nikon 1 J1 and V1 as part of the Shanghai factory visit and tour in celebration of the launch of the new Nikons.

The Nikon 1 series compact digital system cameras are both very nice to use and provide a host of fun shooting options along with some very neat camera technology that enables you to shoot slow motion video, HD video, stunning stills and all in a duo of cameras that are as compact as they are easy to use.

Today's vist to the Nikon Imaging (China) factory reveals that the camera are, to all intents and purposes, hand built from components manufactuered on site.

Almost 8,300 staff in two shifts build the new Nikon's and other Coolpix compact models in the factory based about 2-hours drive outside Shanghai.
